The one that i have interest in us the one about a dictator. When you look throughout history you always see that dictators are bad or evil. But have you ever thought of a good dictator? I think that if a country is bad enough to where it’s nation needs to be fixed, a dictator could be useful. Thomas Sankara was a dictator of a western africa nation. He was dictator from 1983-1987. Still to this day many people look up to him including scholars and philosophers. I feel like sometimes a dictatorship could be really helpful to a country in need. They could bring s nation together again. And they can control all of the country again and bring hope to a nation that was once in trouble.

This was very cool to read. When I think of a dictator I do think of a bad person. After reading this it has opened my eyes to a whole different version of a dictator. I never thought anyone could look up to a dictator as a role model. It’s amazing that there is a good dictator and I just learned something new!

Some people are smarter than others. I believe that we all have the ability to learn but some seem to store the knowledge for their benefit, such as if one were sitting in their most hated class, that lecture goes in one ear and out the next. As stated in The General Principles of Reality "intelligence is measured by the ability to recall and interpret data.." Getting into the topic of a individuals consciousness, many seem to understand deeper meanings to things, or in other terms have a innate sense of philosophy. Some others choose not to question a deeper meaning and take what they're given, possibly making them by society's standard "less intelligent". Also people are very influenced by those around them leaving some people valuing social aspects more than "book smarts". Some people even urge that street smarts is more important, and in some cases yes. Although we all have consciousnesses it's very important that some of us do question and gain the answer to the worlds unsolved mysteries. It's important that there are those who are deemed more intelligent for the conciseness's own well being, to gain the desired amount of education, and to teach future generations.

I personally do agree with this statement as well. Some people are able to retain information quicker, easier, and remember it for longer periods of time. Most of the time I believe the brain classifies what is important and what is not. When we believe something is important or we have an interest in it we always tend to remember the little details that we could never remember about anything else. For me personally this happens a lot with what I want to do versus what my parents want me to do. For example, I might want to go out with friends and I'll already have my plans for what I want to happen; however, when they want me to clean my room or ask that I empty the dishwasher I seem to not hear them. I also agree with when you stated that it is rather important that some are "deemed more intelligent for the conciseness's own well being.." because some people interpret things incorrectly and then as we progress into the future we have an uneducated generation or one where only a certain level of education and understanding has been established and utilized. This would not benefit anyone much, so yes, some people are more intelligent then others and overall that is alright.

I chose the statement "Some people are smarter than others." I chose this statement because it is both true and false. This is true because there are different types of smarts that people can have. There is book smart, street smart, and others that I cannot recall. Many people are one or the other, but even sometimes both. Several different people are better in book smarts than others. Also people can be better with street smarts, as well. It all depends on the person and their point of view for life. This statement is false because nobody is really better than others. My opinion to being false goes over into statement of "All humans are equal." On the website I have provided below, they come from the "True" point of view. They said that people are, in fact, smarter than others. Even in this "equal" world, they believe that others are better in smarts. They said that studies show that there is a certain thing that many people lack, which is the

I totally agree with what you said about it being true and false. I wrote about the same thing but only wrote about one side. In this world there are going to be people that are smarter than others, not because the other people just weren't meant to be smart but because of the way they were brought up as a child and of how their brains develop. In my entry I also wrote about the School/Book smarts and the street smarts. I don't know if they are the same but i wrote about how some people are smarter than others because the Cortex around their brain grows/expands faster. For me i really liked how you included both spectrum for the "positive and the negative".

I agree with you. No body is smarter than the other and they shouldn't be shut down for that. I know plenty of people who are book smart and get high grades but they don't have a lot of common sense. Sometimes I have talked to people who don't seem very smart till they take a test, and ace it. You shouldn't ever say anyone is smarter than another because there are many types of smart and everyone has one. For example some people are book smart, street smart, or have common sense and don't need to be told what to do. You are either one of those and that does not mean you are more intelligent than the other.

I do believe that some people are smarter than others. There are quick learners and slow learners as we all learn different. Usually the quick learners are more smarter as they get to know the subject more quicker. Many other things also play a role in how smart you are. This article describes the different ways that make you smarter and show evidence that some people are smarter than others. This article basically explains that brain development at a early age is very important and I agree with that. If you don't give a baby a not healthy diet then they wouldn't grow very well and is going to grow much slower. Also if you don't want to learn than you obviously are going to be dumb as you can become smart by actually paying attention and trying the best you can. The way you learn can also help get you smarter as there are hands-on learners and different kinds of learner so its basically your genes that determine how smart you are. So every person learns differently and some are born smart and some aren't.

There are also different ways to measure someones intelligence, whether that be "street smarts' or "book smarts". Just as you said though people all learn in there own ways such as hands-on-learning and so on. When i was researching this topic I had found that people who are deemed smarter actually are able to store and recall information better, which I find very interesting. I known someone that has high functioning autism and when it came to technology she could recall almost everything about it (of course this making her seem very smart). So of course compared to the average student she was smarter when it came to technology than her peer.

Not everyone have the ability to make their own decisions. Yes we might have the ability to make our own decisions but there are people out there that are not able to. Such as older adults or people with disabilities. I still feel that even though they have these problems they have the right to have an input on the decision that you are going to make on their life decision. It could be a minor decision but it's their decision you are making for them. According to http://supporteddecisionmaking.org/choices_brochure everyone has the right to make choices of their own and stay in charge of their lives. If you can't make a decision you ask friends or people you are close to, to help you make the best decision. In the article it talks about how we make our decision and the best ways to make our decision because at the end of the day it's your choice. In the article it says that, “Older adults and people with disabilities have the same rights as everyone else, can work and live and love like everyone else.” This is true of you were disabled would you want someone to tell you what decisions to make. Such as where to live or go, what to eat or what not to eat, or even what you can buy or spend your money on. Well these things do happen all over. People make decisions for other people. Decisions that they have no right to make if it's not their life.

I feel that in a way you are right. i believe that unless the person you are making decisions for is unconscious or in a coma, people make their own decisions. an example of that is that if the person with the disability wants o go somewhere to eat and you suggest a place to go, you are not making that decision or them. they are choosing and making their own decision to go to the place that you suggested.

I love how we can agree on the same thing. I do believe everyone has the choice, but that's mostly taken advantage of. Some people love in different countries and don't have the choices we do, or freedom. I agree with you on the disabled people because they don't really get to make their own choices. People think they can't pick or make the same choices we can, but they can. A lot of times their parents or guardians make their choices and don't let them have input. Which is sad because everyone should be able to make their own choices without someone else making them.

In western societies, equality is part of the ethos. People fought for the right of equality for ages and it is so commonplace and understood (even if not completely practiced) we regard it as a given right. The quotation "All men are created equal" is arguably the best-known phrase in any of America’s political documents. And if all men are created equal, they should be treated as equal in the workplace as well. And they think as themselves as equal. And this creates problems. Because we are not equal. We are unique. Special. With different talents, skills, perspectives, life experiences, likes and dislikes. And that means that treating us as if we are the same is wrong. Can you honestly tell me that everybody is equally fitted to be a manager? Of course not. And still, the structures for development in most companies are mainly built on the assumption of equality. People who don't get to be managers feel they are not successful. If we have different talents and needs, why do managers devote equal time to the people they work with instead of giving different people what they need? Why are performance reviews standardized? Because everybody is the same! And we fire the worst performer on the standardized criteria because he is not as good as doing the same thing as everybody else. The equality ethos, while not bad or wrong by itself has its limitations. The problem is, it is so entrenched into our thinking, that we export it to areas of life that it has no place in. Have you ever been part of team that needed to make a presentation and the members insisted that everybody speak during the presentation? Nobody asks whether this makes sense or whether this actually hurts the effectiveness of the presentation. No! We are all equal in this team. We all have to participate! That is just a simple example, but it demonstrates how, in places where we don’t have to, we are willing to sacrifice performance for artificial equality. It is time we leave equality to the human rights field and start treating people as unique beings and not as cogs in a productivity machine. Before having this blog post I would always say that all humans weren't equal just because of racial discrimination but now I've read at least three articles that have given me so many other perspectives of why humans and the main argument is because everyone has different abilities and they're unique in their own ways.

Should you believe everything you’re told? No. Words constantly get twisted around and end up being far from the truth. Rumors, theories, stories, etc. are rarely ever 100% truthful. Also, people lie and try to manipulate the way you think sometimes. It’s all a matter of trust. Parents also put ideas in our heads when we’re young that we come to find out aren’t completely accurate. In the article I read, https://socialanxietyinstitute.org/dont-believe-everything-you-hear-or-read, the author tells about their childhood experience. Their father would call them mean and hurtful things constantly. This caused the author to develop extreme social anxiety because they believed it all to be true. This goes to show you shouldn’t always believe what you’re told. It could also be very harmful to listen to everything you’re told, such as in that scenario.

Is it possible to believe everything your told? With so much fake news and lies everywhere it is hard to trust any source. So I completely agree with you. In class we talked about Plato’s Cave, the prisoners were to believe that the world was only made up of rock and shadows, which turned out to be very wrong. The prisoners who were still held captive believed that lie to be true and were so ignorant they dismissed the truth that one of their peers came to discover. When being told something. Over and over again you come to believe that is reality, like the girl you spoke of, but it is a true skill to be able to identify truth from lies.

Just as you and Carmen both have mentioned, you should never believe everything you are told because news gets switched up and changed so much that you don't ever really know if it is true or not. Now and days you can hardly ever get the truth unless you get it from the direct source and not somebody else. When engaging in a conversation with another person, you have to take into consideration their characteristic, and if you really can believe them. From your response above, when you are getting told things like the author was by their father, you had to realize that at that very moment is when your self esteem has to be the highest and know that what they were being told isn't true and they shouldn't listen to who ever was telling them that.

When we are young our parents tell us many things. They say them to make us happy or to please us but then we are lead to believe that thing for the rest of our lives. Parents should tell kids things that are true and honest. They are putting false information in their brains that could lead them into believing something that is true. And it could effect them for the rest of their lives.

I chose to do the statement, some people are smarter than others. I think this is mostly true. Basically the entirety of our school career has been putting some kids in higher level classes, or making classes like AP and Honors for students who are better at school related studies. But this could also be false, because some people have different types of being smart. Some people are better in areas like the arts, or maybe actual art. But you can also get smarter through hard work, and studies, so maybe all people have the ability to be the same level of smart, but only some people go for it. In some ways this is true, some people are born smarter than others, but that doesn't mean that only some people are born smart, it means that different people are different kinds of smart.

I agree that people are smart in different things. For an example, I might be in an honors class but there are some things I'm not smart at such as art, or computers. There are different people for different things for a reason like people who work for NASA is smart with rocket science. People who work with animals, the ocean, nature, and etc. Different people different smarts.

This was a topic that I have a slightly different opinion on. I agree that some people are smart in their own ways like in different subjects and arts, but I also believe that everyone is smart. It just depends on how much effort one puts into a certain subject. If one puts all of their efforts in one subject they’ll eventually get smart and better on that subject, but if one doesn’t try then there wouldn’t be any progress. This is how I determine if one is smart or not, by the level, they try and how much effort they put in. I also agree that some people are smarter than others because some schools have different levels of classes, as you said.

Although there are different types of smart, our classes are based off of our intelligence. There are different opinions on the true definition of intelligence. The online definition is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. So, taking this into consideration, some people do apply knowledge and skills more than others. Therefore, some people are smarter than others.

For this week’s blog post I had a tough time choosing what statement to do because all of them were good statements and I didn’t know what to pick. Eventually I decided to choose the third statement of “Usually the best and brightest people are leaders” which I disagree on because would you say that Hitler is the best and brightest person :). I also disagree that “Usually the best and brightest people are leaders” because not everyone is the best and even if one is the best it doesn’t mean that they’d have good leading skills that would be able to convince others to listen. I believe that great leaders are people who think before saying and take time to make decisions that would affect the future. Making decisions are always needed when one’s a leader because it’s what determines if one is a good or bad leader by the effects of their decision. If they had made good decisions that had been made for future benefits then they would be great leaders because they had not only thought about the present, but also the future. In the website, https://www.forbes.com/sites/joefolkman/2016/02/03/5-attitudes-that-define-great-leaders/#1a9e6c77f99d, that consists of also blogs one also stated that leaders are usually ones who make good decisions and are strategic while also focusing on the future. I also believe that people who are leaders should also have respect and responsibility for what they do and to other people. People who are leaders should have respect and are responsible because they reflect on one’s personality and how they treat other that would then affect the future. People with respect and are responsible are the ones that the people would want to follow because they feel safe under their command while still being able to contribute, as sated in this other website https://richtopia.com/effective-leadership/6-key-attitudes-successful-leaders.

Yes, I do agree with your statement. Leaders don’t have to be the best and brightest outbid the group. For example, us in school, we follow or look up to another as inspiration to become or to be similar to one day. It’s not that smartness isn’t a quality that a leader may hold but the real reason is trust. Trust is the reason why we follow others. We believe that whatever they do will end up better than it was in the beginning for them and for us.

A few blog posts ago I explained how I hate reading, that still hasn't changed. You should have a sense of what I'm going to talk about now, if not, its about how people who cannot read are easily controlled. My unstable thoughts have concluded that people that cannot read are not easily controlled. Its not that they're controlled by the lack of a knowledge, its the lack of common knowledge that you can obtain by everyday experiences. I don't know any real known instances where the lack of reading has lead anyone to being controlled, giving my comment on unstable thoughts. So far I can only find this https://brainly.com/question/2994786 website, with a response explaining that people who cannot read can be easily manipulated by others since they lack outside information to gain a sense of themselves becoming used. Yes this is true, but even people who read to the top may even be missing out on themselves becoming used. Reading or not reading doesn't matter, its how discreetly the manipulation is to the person. " People that cannot read can be easily controlled because they cannot get the correct idea or information about the material that they were reading." Not to be rude but, this sentence doesn't even make much sense because I don't even know why the person that doesn't read is reading, giving me the upper hand in this topic. Yes, reading does let us a lot of information but it solely depends on the person`s common sense that is being manipulated, not other types of knowledge.

Although I believe that reading is important because the reader can obtain knowledge from it, I also agree with how common sense is what determines if one is going to be controlled. If one doesn’t have common sense then they could be controlled very easily because anyone could give them false information. Even if one read, they could also be easily controlled because reading doesn’t provide all the information needed. Without everyday experiences, one could be easily controlled because they had known nothing, but the false information that was given to them to take control. I also agree that reading or not reading doesn’t determine if one could be controlled or not, it depends on their experiences. Reading is also important because it provides information that one can’t obtain through experience and common sense.

People do not always have the ability to make their own choices. I have a lot of reasons why people don't always have that ability and here are some. One of them being religion. Religion is a huge part of what makes up society today, and not everyone has a choice. One of those examples is Jews being killed by German soldiers in World War Two. The innocent German citizens could not speak up and stop this because they knew they'd be killed if they spoke up, even if you associated with one you could be killed. This is just one example of how most country's can't speak up or they will be executed. In many country's like Iraq women are not aloud to get a education because the men don't want them to be smarter. This is not the women's choice, but the men's. Malala was one of the brave women to stand up for education, but was shot just for saying her opinion. As humans we know that speaking can get us killed and we prohibit that by staying quiet. I can also relate this to rape victims. They are so traumatized and in fear that they will isolate themselves so no one will find out. Most times they will commit suicide because they know speaking up will get them killed or hurt even more. Men and Women who go through this do not have the ability to stop this because they are taken advantaged of. Rape is a subject people don't want to talk about, but should be because these people didn't have the ability to make that choice. Only the predator had the choice.

I chose to focus on the statement, “all humans are created equal.” If we focus on the second paragraph, I highly disagree with the article linked. Yes, we do different activities, but our activities are not what makes us human. Physically, our bodies are what makes us human. Our genetic makeup, or our body structure proves us human. So, physically all humans are created equal. The statement is not clear on whether humans are treated equal. If this is the case, all humans are not created equal. Unfortunately, even through all historical movements, all humans are not treated equal. Many people like to believe that everyone is treated the same, when this is not the case in today’s judgemental society. Racism and sexism is still very much alive, and we can’t pretend not to see it. Therefore, we are not all treated the same, but we are all created the same.

Especially now days with hatred be spoken from the suppressive leader of our country, from the man that is suppose to represent our equality he sure does a bad job at it. It's truly sad we have to still see Nazi's parading the streets advertising the crude beliefs. I truly believe basic human rights should include all colors, religions, and genders. Many believe the best leaders are typically the smartest person in the room. This pretense, is to some degree inaccurate. The greatest leaders are not always the best and brightest. Having intelligence does not mean you would be a qualified leader. To be a great leader you need more than intelligence, you need vision, negotiation abilities, drive, integrity, effectivity, inspiration, passion, innovation, and etc. New studies suggest those with a stunningly brilliant intellect do not necessarily constitute the best leaders. These studies ruled, what is best within a leader is not an exceeding intelligence, but balance. When intelligence is coupled with one's personality, like agreeableness and charisma, then intellect benefits leadership. Nevertheless, a person's intelligence does not dictate their ability to lead. In fact, throughout history, we have had many uneducated men who happened to be brilliant leaders.

Like you said, " leaders need vision, negotiation abilities, drive, integrity, effectivity, inspiration, passion, innovation, and etc." Like you also said that there have been uneducated people that have made an impact in history. An example would be the Wright Brothers, the inventors of the first airplane. They were high school dropouts but they did make a change. So I do agree that leaders don't just have intelligence.

You're absolutely right. Some of the best leaders we've had in our country weren't exactly the best educated. Take George Washington for example: he was just a farmer who wanted to help a cause. And he became a great leader. You don't have to be smart to know what you're doing.

Many seem to believe that the smartest can be leaders but they fail to see their are many other qualities that can make a person a leader. I mean just look at who's supposedly running the country. Even the leaders in the activist communities, what makes some of them good leaders is there push for a better change. Someone who can push and make for a better change isn't necessarily "the smartest person in the room". Although some people do believe that you have to be smart to be a leader now days we can all have a voice in the palm of our hands.

People always have the ability to make their own choices. This is the topic that I agree with the most, and what I've decided to look into more. What I always think of with this topic is when someone would ask you to, say, give you the answers on a midterm. People cannot just tell you to and then you automatically do it- YOU have to make your own choices. I always think that this is the life I am living and my choices affect how my life goes. It always makes me think of when it comes to a hard choice in your life, how one might have the devil on your shoulder and an angel on the other. We all have to make our own choices, no matter the price. We have control over our lives, it all depends on the choices we make- and we make thousands of them everyday. From picking out what outfit to wear, to picking what to eat for lunch, to even choosing what to say- it is up to us to choose that. Everybody should be entitled to their own choices and how they affect their lives.

They come from songs, books articles, etc. Also a lot of rumors spread. This website (https://www.theodysseyonline.com/shouldnt-believe-everything-hear) told me about how on social media, we shouldn't trust anyone. Word travels a lot faster on the internet. Some people will twist words. She talked about the whole " people in Asia eat dog". False stereotypes were spread through media. She talks about how easy it is to believe the internet because people often forget there is a lot of fake news and false information. This should to not believe everything you're told because if you're wrong it could hurt someone and you could make a full out of yourself.

I totally agree. Just because someone tells you something doesn’t mean they are an accurate source of information. Information can be passed through people, changing slightly with each person. This can be compared to the game we used to play as children, telephone. You should never trust information people tell you. Chances are, it’s false.

I totally agree with you, Alexis! When we discussed this in class, I said pretty much what you showed. For example, you can't just automatically listen to someone if they say "Your mom died." You were right about the whole internet spreading rumors, because people these days will just listen to anything the internet tells them. We need to develop a better mindset to be able to tell truth from false.

I believe people have the ability to make their own decisions. Unless they are unstable. Everyone has their own views on different things. They should be able to express those things. When I went to do research, I saw that things like "should teens make decisions" pop up a lot. The website (http://mynutelladiary.blogspot.com/2011/10/parents-should-let-teenagers-make-their.html) said that teens should make their own decisions and if they make the wrong one, the parents can help them not make that mistake again. Some parents have different views then their children so they pick the decisions they like best and not what the kids wants. They shpuld be themselves. I agree with the article, teens should make there own decisions and learn if they make a mistake

I agree. Parents shouldn't make their kids decisions all the time. We need to be able to know what we need and want without our parent because they wont always be there when we are all grown up. If we mess up on our choices, the parents should be there to help. Most of the time people dont get to make their own choices because of alot of reasons. I mean yeah we make small decisions like what shoes to wear.

Rarely, people have the ability to make their own descions, but everyone has the right to make choices by themselves. Making your own descion is what sets up your faith, unfortunately some don’t have that choice available to them. For an example, our parents, teachers, and elders seem to make choices for us no matter our input. People prey on the weak and control them, ripping that right of free will away. Some disabilities stop you from making choices with a good state of mind, including depression, anxiety, or stress. Another example of life dictators is the government and society. The government can force or advocate any single being into doing anything. Along with the government, society can be just as controlling as any dictator or god. Society has a mind set of what is wrong or right, which could impact your independent choices. Your ability of choice is impacted so much that it isn’t even considered your choice anymore.

Dictators come in many different forms to others, as you explained. Another example of dictators on our life’s are leaders, another topic (# 3 as I believe). Leaders are what influence us to do things that may be out of our comfort zone or something we may have never thought of before. As time elapses you yourself will become a leader to another figure in your life such as your sibiling or best friend. But, sometimes leaders may be disleading. We trust them but trusting them in what, is the real question. This is why some may be fields into things we shouldn’t of been leaded into the first place. This represents the power of leading god in other words, dictating.

Only smart people are leaders, LIES as my dad would say. If we’re speaking in a history standpoint, we awarded people with the presendency if they were winning generals, no one ever said they were smart! Heck we have leaders like trump in the White House! We choose leaders who look appealing, not because they know what they’re doing. It’s quite sad honestly our county is on the brink of getting bombed because our ‘leader’ doesn’t know how to choose his country over a petty twitter argument. People choose people who look strong, and honestly this has put people into some deep stuff over the years. For example someone who’s strong is more likely to attempt to show off there power, meaning they’ll do things iirationaly over thinking statigicly about things. It’s quite sad that not a leader are smart. But no not all learners a smart but not alll leaders have to be smart.

I agree also that only smart people are leaders is a false statement. I do remember talking about military leaders during the Civil War who were awarded with the presidency and that most definitely was not the best way to determine the representative of our people. Instead of trying to reasonably choose a leader we are more drawn to who looks more appealing. Being honest - if a strong, handsome man and a scrawny, unattractive man ran against each other who would choose? (I personally would prefer the man more pleasing unto the eye.) Now that you've chosen between looks you see what was behind the looks, so the more attractive man was actually a complete idiot and the unattractive man was a genius. Looks can be deceiving and majority of the time we don't focus on intelligence and that ultimately shows because leaders have definitely been chosen who have not been the most intelligent. All in all I agree completely that not all leaders are smart.

PRAISE PRAISE PRAISE MIKAYLA!!! These days, people think that only lawyers from Harvard or congressmen from New York can be leaders of our country. But now, we have a businessman who has never been in politics ever in his life as our president! Everybody knows my political stance (haha) so I won't go deeply into that... but it is true that usually smart people are put in public offices. Obviously, that is the opposite as of now with an orange that has the attention span of a gnat as the leader of our country. As all the cool kidz like to say now, "ROASTED!"(I'll go home)

The statement I chose was, "All humans are equal." I am undecided as to which side I should take: true or false, because there are strong arguments for both, but I am more of an advocate for this statement being false. Looking at the big picture, every human on this earth was made with skin and bones, and we all breathe the same air. Everybody is different in their own way, which makes everybody special and unique, but not so much equal. If everyone was equal, there would not be starving children in Africa, there would not be wars constantly rising all over the world, and there would be no discrimination. Ever since the beginning of America, people of color were seen as the minority and unequal, only because of their skin color, which in no way shows equality. There are some bad aspects of all people not being equal but there are also many positives. Everybody has their own unique talent, ability and life experiences, and each person is different, so if everyone is equal, it isn't always such a bad thing. At first, I was thinking that everyone should be equal, although they aren't, but as I read this article, I changed my mind on the topic. Everybody should be given the same opportunities to be successful in life, and we should all be able to shine in their own talents and what makes us special. The way I think of it, people are like zebras, in a sense. From far away, they look the same, almost identical, but the closer you get, the more you can differentiate them and tell that they indeed are not the same or equal.

I totally agree with you. I believe that all humans deserve the right to be treated equally, and if that were the case, then this wouldn't even be an assignment. Throughout all of history, there has been discrimination. Not just with people of color like you said, but also of religion. In during the Holocaust, Hitler believed that the perfect person had blonde hair, blue eyes, and believed in the Christian religion. Propaganda would discriminate against religion and race, which made a great impact on our history. I don't think that we will see a day where all people are equal, because there will always be someone with an opinion. However, that shouldn't stop us from trying to help. The world isn't the perfect planet we want it to be, but we can make it better.

When i heard the topic my first pick was "Some people are smarter than others." Everyone has the capability to learn and be "smart", but some are able to maintain more information than the other. Sometimes being able to maintain more at a time doesn't necessarily make you smarter but it may give you an advantage for a certain amount of time. That is in some cases, but may be different for everyone. Also many people can think of being smart in different ways. There are street smarts, and there are school smarts (Just a side note). According to https://www.technologyreview.com/s/405613/why-some-kids-are-smarter/ some kids are "smarter" than others because the Cortex around the brain may grow thicker and faster on some than on others. With the cortex being thicker it is able to hold more information letting their IQ's go above and beyond. My research led me to believe that most of the "smart kids" brains developed the way they did because of 1. Genetics and 2. the way they were raised while they were young children. More accurate understanding of the brain can lead to future developments.

I believe that all humans are equal. This is a really touchy subject to talk about as it goes in multiple directions. For example some people believe that if you don’t have a leg than your not equal to someone else that dose, but the person with te leg dose. If you really think about it we really aren’t treated equally. There’s always people that are races or don’t like a person cause of some stupid thing or they just don’t like them. This is really bad and we need to help it change, but it’s proble not going to change. This is as there’s always going to be hate and racism. This is as there’s always people that feel better than others. For another example maybe I was born in the us, but my friend Juan was not. I could treat him unequally just for that. This is really sad and we need to make this right.

I chose should we believe everything we are told and I believe that this answer is very simple...NO! It’s almost impossible to do this for instance say that one person said pizza is good and another said it’s bad u can believe both people cause one is wrong. People will also tell lies to persuade you into doing things such as tv commercials or con people. Believing everything that you hear can also lead to depression. In my article I read that being gullible and believing what You hear is bad and leads to sadness. It’s crazy to believe everything you hear considering the type of world that we live in today. People will do anything to get what they want including lying. If we believed everything we heard we wouldn’t have as many lawyers or even court cases. My article shows some tips and tricks to break the habit and why it’s bad. Stay safe, and don’t believe what u hear because it’s not always the truth.

I chose the statement "Some people are smarter than others." I chose this because I have always felt like this is not true. For example people are all equal intelligently because some people may not have the encouragement to be smart. Like if their parents don't push them to do well in school and do their homework they may not want to do it. Or like some people may have a disorder of some kind that holds them back from being smart. But we are all human and we all are equal so why shouldn't people be smarter than everybody else?https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/feeling-our-way/201509/aren-t-some-people-just-smarter-others. I found this website and it talks about how people can be smarter than others and it doesn't make sense. First of all most people may not have the financial status to afford things to teach them like books or computers. So theoretically if we all were equal from a financial standpoint, a determination, and encouragement standpoint. I believe we would all be as smart as one another.

I chose the topic "All people are created equal" and I believe this statement is false. First of all many people have different strengths and weaknesses when they were born as shown in the site that I have found. The person says that people do not have the equal ability to achieve success. This site states that some people have different difficulties during their life that affects their choice in life. I also agree to this since when people are born people have different talents and strenghts, but have different weaknesses that will stop then from achieving success. Many people also have different opportunities in life since they have connections and money to face their difficulties. The less fortunate can have money issues that prevent may prevent them from achieving what they want to. Also where they were born affects how equal some people are. In some areas many women do not have the same equal rights. Finally, people believe that some lives are crucial to the world and would protect the person.

People believe in what other people say because it is easier follow someone else’s path than It is to follow your own. We as human are especially lazy and we always find the best way to do things with less effort . Following other people Is just another way to live life with less effort. Though we are free and able to make our own decisions we decide to follow someone else’s because it’s easier; it takes too much thought or effort. We choose to listen to other people’s words because it’s gives us comfort to be able to rely on someone else because when your the leader everyone’s on your shoulder but no one else offers their shoulder to you. The leader has a lot of pressure put on him/her to make the people satisfied. As humans we don’t mind putting pressure on other people that we wouldn’t like put on us. This statement of people believing in what other people say isn’t just about listening and believing it’s about obedience and how it’s easier to obey than to make your own choices. Its hard to think for yourself which is why some people never want to become adults because they are afraid of making their own decisions and failing. People who listen or obey others are people who don’t trust themselves. A person afraid of failure follows another because they can shift the blame of their failures onto the other person because they were following the other persons directions. The child is well fed and clothed without having to do a thing but the adult has to work hard to feed and cloths thyself.
